FAQs

Thank you for your interest in the Lewisville-Clemmons Chamber of Commerce! Our most frequently asked questions are listed below:

1. What is a Chamber of Commerce?

The US Chamber of Commerce has a great definition: “A chamber of commerce is a voluntary partnership of businesses and professionals working together to build a healthy economy and improve the quality of life in a community.”

2. How can a Chamber of Commerce impact my business?

Great question! Businesses who join their local Chambers of Commerce
enjoy many benefits, including valuable resources, networking
opportunities, customer referrals, increased visibility in the community, and
added credibility and name recognition.

3. What are some of the Chamber’s networking opportunities?

We have so many great ways to get involved, including monthly Chamber meetings, multiple Leads Groups, Business Before / After Hours, Ribbon Cuttings, Cash Mobs, and Young Professionals.

4. What are some ways I can get involved in the Chamber of Commerce?

We are always excited to work with engaged professionals who share our passion for supporting the local business community! We have many ways to get involved – from Leads Group Leadership… Ambassadors… Committees… Event Volunteers… and even our Board of Directors!

5. Does my business have to be in Lewisville or Clemmons?

No! We have members all over the Triad and even a few across the country! If your business is looking to make an impact in Lewisville or Clemmons, connect with our communities, increase your brand recognition, or any other number of reasons – join us!

6. Can I be a member of more than one Chamber of Commerce?

Sure! We just hope we’re one of them!

7. Can more than one member of my business be active in the Lewisville-Clemmons Chamber of Commerce?

Absolutely, and honestly – we encourage that! Your membership is based on your business. So you decide who will act as representative(s) for your business. You can even create individual login accounts for all the representatives for your organization; however – there is only one primary and one billing representative (though they can be the same person).

8. Is the Chamber of Commerce a non-profit?

Yes, we are! However, we are not a charitable non-profit, but we are a 501(c)6. Most sponsorships and other financial gifts (outside of
membership dues) should be viewed as a marketing expense versus a charitable donation. We do have an exception with our Leadership Lewisville-Clemmons (LLC) program; donations can be made to LLC through the Shallow Ford Foundation.

9. Is the Chamber of Commerce a government agency?

We are not; we have a great relationship with our local government, but we are not a government agency ourselves. The Lewisville-Clemmons Chamber of Commerce is not affiliated with, nor does our organization endorse, any political party / candidate.

10. What if I have more questions?

No problem – contact the Chamber office (336.970.5100) and we’ll be happy to answer any and all of your questions!
